Meditation, even the Klingons do it!

Everyone knows about meditation, But does everyone know the Klingons like to get their meditative state on too?

Klingons practice Mok'bara, it's similar to tai chi, except there are less fluid movements and more clawed hands and rough/fast movements (it is based off of Klingon hand to hand combat).

Ok, it is similar to tai chi in the sense that its calming. It clears the mind.

Here is Worf (everyone's favorite Klingon, and background story:he is being imprisoned with uncultured dishonorable Klingons, ok now your sorta kinda caught up.)

Alright, so now you are interested and want to do some form of meditation too. Now you can either memorize this video and maybe two other clips from Next Generation and Deep Space 9 episodes, OR you can actually learn some human created tai chi. (Just saying its cool to do both, I did both.)

Alright, so here is something you can try and imitate (and it is not in english, but you can just follow along with your jeepers creepers peepers. ok.)

And if tai chi isn't for you, try some regular yoga! check these poses out:

Now if you aren't already excited about tai chi, yoga, and Mok' bara, then you are probably too stressed out for fun and therefore need to do all of these right away. And go get a massage, you deserve it.

Here is a really cool link I found, it's a store that sells Klingon yoga mats! Everyone should buy one and own one, other wise you are a dishonor to everything calming and meditative. Seriously, buy one, they are rad.

Happy Ask-A-Stupid-Question Day!

http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs39/f/2009/001/e/e/Well_That__s_Stupid_by_DoctorNorik.png
Wow, its already that time of year again! We spend the whole year trying to be smart and impress each other, and all that stupidity is just building up inside of us like a shook up coke bottle. Well tomorrow you can just hang loose, yes that's right, on September 28 it is Ask A Stupid Question Day
Now, if you are as smart as the doctor and are worried about making brilliant statements (scary i know), here are some stupid questions you can try out:
  • Can you hurt your eyes by looking at a picture of a sun?
  • Do midgets have night vision?
  • Is there a spell to become a mermaid that actually work?
  • How can i loose wight without moving?
  • Is it ok to boil my headphones?
  • Which is worse-- ignorance or apathy?
  • Do girls play video games too?
  • Why do only Beatles tribute bands play live, i really wanna see the Beatles, do i have to buy a special ticket?

RVACON

(a little Deadpool seems appropriate right here)

Being a Richmonder myself, I have recently discovered RVACON. What is that? Oh, well let me tell you my young jedi friend.

From Friday September 27 to Sunday September 29 of the year 2013 there is going to be this giant nerd fest with anime, comics, cosplay, gaming music and technology.
Meaning:

All the Otaku can get their anime on with other fans, artists, and vendors. The head-honcho for anime will be Bens#1 Anime Review, and if you want to get a sneak peak you can check Bens#1 Anime Review Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Bens1AnimeReview?fref=ts

All the comic collectors can collect their hearts desires, Because this is the first RVACON the selection will be based on local artists and comics.

Any obsessive cosplayers, the extremists and the amateurs, can look forward to getting a cheaper door price ticket (if you dress up its $10 vs the original $15), and there will be a cosplay fashion show with prizes.

Gamers can seriously geek about the giant competition that awards prizes to winners with the most skills. They will be offering game to play from: Nintendo (like Tetris, oh my goodness, I am so excited about Tetris), Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Wii/Game Cube, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3

Music Junkies can appriciate panels, workshops, and a silent disco for your listening pleasure. At a silent disco, attendants are given sets of wireless headphones and everyone can jam to the same music and live DJs. The artists playing are: Reinhold, RudeeBeatz, Paranoid Androidz, Groove Status, Agent, Elliott Ness, ADEN, HeKontorlls, Rutu, Phil Dice, Chrispi Dream, HOYT!, Isra3l/Cassim, Metrix, Snarfie, and other!

And last but certainly not lame, Techno whizzes can learn how RVACON got its act together. They will have speakers talking about technologies used at RVACON and they will also talk about Google Glass!

So, if your interested in going (sadly i wont be able to make it), here is the link:
